How are Lakewood fruit juices made?

Our juices start with the freshest fruits available. Once fruit is picked, it is loaded onto the field trucks and transported to our processing plant, where it is washed, graded, selected, and separated. Next, the fruit is pressed and the puree or juice is passed through a finisher to remove excess pulp, seeds, and skin. Finally, our juice is then flash pasteurized, bottled, and vacuum-sealed in new, clean, glass bottles.

What government standards does Lakewood adhere to?

The equipment used in our production process meets all applicable USDA and FDA specifications and requirements. Product labeling meets all current USDA, FDA, and Organic Standards.

Are all Lakewood juices vacuum-sealed in glass bottles?

Yes, all Lakewood Fruit Juice Products are vacuum-sealed in air-barrier glass containers. This prevents fermentation or "spoil" as long as the original seal is maintained.

Once I have opened a bottle, how long will the juice last in the refrigerator?

Because our juices do not contain preservatives, bottles that have been opened should be consumed within 7 to 10 days. After that period of time, fruit juices will begin their natural deterioration and fermentation process. Juice concentrates, lemon juice, lime juice, and noni juice may be stored in your refrigerator for several months without any significant deterioration.

Do any of your Lakewood juices and aloe products contain preservatives?

None of our juices or aloe products contain preservatives.

Are all Lakewood juices gluten and casein free?

Yes. All Lakewood products are gluten and casein free. Gluten refers to products derived from wheat or other grains, and casein refers to products derived from milk.

Does Lakewood use any artificial sweeteners in its juice products?

No, we do not use any artificial sweeteners, fillers, or additives. Lakewood Juices are made only from fresh fruit.

Are all your Lakewood organic juices GMO free?

Yes. Genetically Engineered/Modified Organisms (GEO/GMOs) are not compatible with the principles of organic production and are not permitted under the organic standards.

What is the difference between pure cranberry and cranberry blend?

Pure cranberry contains only the juice pressed from fresh cranberries. There is nothing added to the juice—giving it a bitter and acidic taste; therefore, this juice is most-often consumed for medicinal purposes. For your drinking pleasure, we suggest diluting the pure cranberry juice with water or another juice, such as apple or grape. Cranberry Blend is a much-softer alternative offering a mixture of pure cranberry, apple, and white-grape juices.

What is fresh pressed?

Fresh pressed simply means Lakewood Juices are pressed from fresh, ripe fruit.

How should I store my juice?

Juices stored longer than 6 months should be refrigerated. We encourage our distributors and retailers to maintain all juice products in a cool or air-conditioned environment as all fruit juices will lose flavor and color if they are not properly stored and rotated. Fruit juices packed in glass bottles should not be frozen. Freezing will cause the vacuum seal to rupture, and the juice will ferment upon thawing.

What does "Made from Concentrate" mean?

When fruit is boiled or cooked down until all water has been extracted, it becomes a “concentrate” or a heavy syrup. The syrup is then reconstituted by adding water back to the substance. Juices made from concentrate contain as much as 80% water.
